Strategy

Overview
Muzik transforms wearable devices into comprehensive tech solutions. The Muzik Connect iOS app initially focused on simple music control and social media sharing through the brand’s smart headphones. Over time, it evolved to incorporate new functionalities aligned with the additional hardware elements, including hands-free music and social media integration, partnership features with luxury brands like Gucci, and enhanced smart controls.
THE Problem
As Muzik’s smart headphone product line expanded—introducing products like AI-infused ear buds—the existing Muzik Connect app required a comprehensive redesign. The app needed to expand its functionality to support new partnerships, developer integrations, and additional creative uses for wearable technology.
Additionally, the rapid evolution of the company, executive team, and hardware products outpaced app development, leading to delays and inconsistent user experiences. We needed a flexible design process that could quickly adapt to new features and product changes while maintaining a seamless, intuitive experience.
MY Process
  • Worked alongside Founder/CEO to define goals, target audiences, and product vision
  • Developed a product & brand strategy for multiple apps, identifying core features, and user journeys
  • Designed/directed rapid UX/UI iterations through wireframes, interactive prototypes, and fully designed screens
  • Collaborated with product teams on dialogue flow design outlining various user prompts, system responses, and potential variations in the flow based on user inputs
  • Developed content and launch materials for presentations, events, and marketing campaigns
The Outcome
Each design iteration of the Muzik Connect iOS app was a pivotal tool in Muzik’s broader business strategy, especially in forging high-profile partnerships and engaging with brand ambassadors. The app was showcased in meetings with celebrities, tech influencers, and luxury brand partners, helping to elevate Muzik’s profile and promote its smart hardware ecosystem.
While the app’s development never progressed beyond version 1.0 due to confidential reasons, the product marketing efforts were a highlight. My absolute favorite piece of this puzzle was a striking brand video that I made with Dan Keston, Gmunk, Tool, and many others. It symbolically portrays Mother Nature and Father Time coming together, demonstrating how Muzik’s technology empowers users, ending with the tagline “Control Your World.” This perfectly aligns the hardware’s innovative capabilities with a grand vision of influence over time and space. Despite the app’s limited public rollout, it played a critical role in Muzik’s outreach to potential partners and influencers, showcasing the product’s potential and fostering excitement around its future.
